Temporary restraining order stops state from placing the North Forest district into the Houston district.

A court order has stopped the state of Texas from forcing the North Forest (Texas) Independent School District to be absorbed by the neighboring Houston Independent School District. KTRK-TV says a judge has granted North Forest a temporary restraining order that prevents the Texas Education Agency from carrying out the merger of the districts. A hearing on a preliminary injunction will be held later this month.
