Fort Worth district withdraws job offer to former Dallas principal

The Fort Worth (Texas) school district has reversed its decision and will not hire a former Dallas high school principal who had been accused of misusing federal funds and hiring relatives. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram says the district has withdrawn its offer to Leicha Shaver after "further review during the application process." Shaver had been principal of Roosevelt High School in Dallas, but her contract was not renewed after investigators reported that she violated district policies by hiring her husband and sister, allowing employees to be paid for hours not worked and paying employees with federal grant money.
