Former elementary in Kansas City, Mo., to become apartments

District has closed many campuses because of declining enrollment.

Construction has begun to convert the former Seven Oaks Elementary School in Kansas City, Mo., into a 44-unit senior housing facility. The Kansas City Star says the building wil have 28 two-bedroom units and 16 one-bedroom units and is scheduled to open in May 2014. The former school is one of many facilities that the Kansas City School District has closed because of declining enrollment.
