From The Charlotte Observer: Charlotte-Mecklenburg (N.C.) School Superintendent Heath Morrison is considering spending excess bond funds to increase security at some of the district's older school buildings. In the aftermath of last month's mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., Charlotte school officials found a need for campus fencing, more cameras, better locks and single-point entrances. Morrison estimates that carrying out all the safety upgrades would cost more than $20 million.
