Paul Vallas is continuing to serve as superintendent of Bridgeport, Conn., schools while an appeal is pending of a ruling that ousted him from his job. The Connecticut Post reports that the city attorney's office has appealed the decision and a stay placed on the ruling allows Vallas to continue working. A judge ruled that Vallas had taken a "sham" course to become qualified to serve as superintendent. Before taking the job in Bridgeport, Vallas had led districts in Chicago, Philadelphia and the Louisiana Recovery District.
