Baltimore County (Md.) district will add elementary classrooms

The Baltimore County (Md.) district plans to overhaul its elementary school buildings to add more than 1,700 seats in its central and southwestern neighborhoods, where crowding has pushed students and teachers into portable classrooms and hallways for their lessons. The Baltimore Sun reports that Superintendent Dallas Dance is calling for reopening Loch Raven Elementary and moving Catonsville Elementary to the Bloomsbury Community Center as well as additions and renovations at other sites. All of the projects are tentatively scheduled to be finished by 2016-2017.
