3 new schools open in Joplin, Mo.

Jan. 9, 2014
Bad weather had delayed the opening of the schools by 3 days

After two and a half years of planning and construction and three snow days that delayed their official opening, Joplin’s three newest schools — Irving and Soaring Heights elementary schools and East Middle School have now opened their doors to students. The new buildings replace schools destroyed in a May 2011 tornado. (The Joplin Globe)
