2 districts on Long Island plan to share superintendent

Two New York school districts are planning to share a superintendent in a move that administrators say will cut costs and expand opportunities for students. Newsday reports that Southold Superintendent David Gamberg is set to head the Greenport and Southold districts under a two-year contract that begins in July 2014. The two districts are side by side on Long Island. Greenport has 650 students and Southold has about 850.
