States with the highest percentage of higher-education attainment in 2012

The latest version of a report from the Lumina FoundationA Stronger Nation through Higher Education, has found that in 2012, 39.4 percent of the nation's population aged 25 to 64 had obtained at least an associate's degree. (That's a healthy increase from the 2011 figure of 38.7 percent.)

The report measures progress toward Goal 2025, which is a national effort to increase the percentage of Americans with high-quality degrees and credentials to 60 percent by the year 2025.

Here are the 10 states with the highest percentage of working-age adults (25 to 64) who had at least an associates degree.
