Shrinkage: States projected to have the greatest percentage public school enrollment decline, 2012 to 2024

Enrollment for elementary and secondary public schools in the United States is expected to rise 6.3 percent from 2012 to 2024, according to the newly issued Projections of Education Statistics to 2024.

The enrollment changes range from Nevada—projected to grow 25.8 percent from 2012 to 2024—to West Virginia—projected to decline 11.4 percent over those years.
