Per pupil spending in public schools, 2012

Per pupil expenditures in public schools rebounded a bit in 2012 following the first decline in the figure since the U.S. Census Bureau began tracking school spending. The bureau says in a new report that the 50 states and the District of Columbia spent $10,608 per student in 2011-12, up from $10,560 in 2010-11.

Here are the 10 states with the highest per pupil amounts for current spending of public elementary-secondary school systems by state for fiscal year 2012.
