Of the 100 largest public school systems in the United States in 2013-14, these are the 10 that spent the least amount per student.

In 2013-14, a public school district in the United States spent an average of $11,008 per pupil. New York spent the most—$20,610—and Utah spent the least—$6,500.

So it's no surprise that the largest districts in Utah are at the top of the list of large school systems that had the lowest per-pupil expenditures in 2013-14.

Of the 100 school districts with the largest student enrollments in 2013-14, four districts in Utah spend the least.

The 10 districts listed below reported the lowest per-pupil expenditures of systems among the 100 largest in the nation.
