Federal funding for schools

In Fiscal 2011, federal funding accounted for 12.3 percent of the revenue received by U.S. school districts, a report from the U.S. Census Bureau says. Federal support ranged from 5.1 percent in New Jersey to 22.3 percent in Mississippi. Here are the 10 states in which federal funds make up the largest percentage of elementary and secondary school revenue.
