The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development measures how much money its 35 member nations spend on education institutions.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, headquartered in Paris, has 35 member nations throughout the world. It seeks to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

In its latest report, Education at a Glance 2016, it calculates for 2013 what percentage of the gross domestic product in its member nations is spent on education institutions

The United Kingdom devoted the highest percentage of its GDP to education: 6.7 percent; the lowest percentage among the 35 nations was Luxembourg, which devoted 3.5 percent of GDP to education in 2013. The average among all the member nations was 5.2 percent.
