Princeton Review to consider campus safety in college rankings

The popular college rankings publisher said that it will include direct links to online campus security pages.

The Princeton Review will be updating its website to include information regarding campus security. The popular college rankings publisher said that it will include direct links to online campus security pages, the Huffington Post reported.

“Over the 2013-14 academic year, as news reports of crime—including very disturbing reports of sexual assaults—on college campuses increased, we looked to ways we could responsibly collect and report information that would be helpful to the students, parents, and advisors we serve," Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's senior vice president-publisher, said in a statement.

The information is intended to buttress reporting requirements under the Clery Act, which many believe does not tell the entire story because many students don’t report crimes to which they have been victim.
