Oct. 15, 2015
Two 132-bed buildings are expected to open in 2016

Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia has approved construction of two 132-student residence halls.

The $12 million project will be built at the north entrance to the Southern Arkansas campus and will enable the school to keep up with enrollment growth, university president Trey Berry says.

“We have been bursting at the seams and we feel the time is right for new halls,” Berry says. "We hope to have these halls ready by fall 2016. They are essential parts to our future growth.”

About 1,600 students now are housed in Southern Arkansas residence halls.
