$81 million campus will replace existing high school and accommodate 2,450 students.

The Seguin (Texas) district has broken ground on a new high school.

The $81 million project will provide a building of about 340,000 square feet to accommodate 2,450 students. The new school, scheduled to open in August 2017, will replace a campus of 18 separate buildings, some of which were built in the 1950s.

The money for construction comes from an $83 million bond issue approved by voters in 2013.
