August 2013 Product Showcase

Aug. 1, 2013
In June, NeoCon featured some of the hottest products in the industry:

Broadloom carpet

J+J Flooring Group/Infusion. The traditional craftsmanship of hand-knotted carpet, modernized with innovative tufting technology, is the essence of the new Infusion Collection. The three designs in this broadloom collection, Natural, Brisk and Zing, bring to mind classic tea-washed carpets and feature exceptional depth of tonal color enhanced by a subtle sheen. The collection includes 16 piece-dyed colors that move from soft neutrals and grays to deeper rich tones. The collection is made up of 100 percent Ultron-dyed nylon.  Each product uses Color Point technology, which creates visual interest with cut pile and multi-level loops and enables pinpoint yarn placement.

Bold carpet concept

Patcraft. The new Deconstructed carpet reveals its strong foundation by exposing its primary backing in creative ways. The primary backing comes in bold colors such as hot pink, yellow or bold blue as well as neutral shades, enabling the customer to choose a colorful or neutral primary backing color and then add complementary color fibers at varying pile heights to create depth and texture that’s unique to carpet. It is manufactured with Solution Q Extreme nylon, which repels acid-based stains; common food spills can be cleaned with just water. The products are 100 percent recyclable and Cradle-to-Cradle certified.

Photographic halftone effect

Tandus. The expansive repeating stripe of HalfTone achieves a powerful effect using simple gradients throughout the length of the roll. Secondary perpendicular lines are threaded into the pattern to create the optical effect of a halftone print. Created with Sero design technology, it has all the daring and restraint of minimalist art. Thirteen colors run from warm and cool neutrals to splashes of saturated brights. HalfTone is available in modular square and modular rectangular carpet sizes and Powerbond, a hybrid resilient sheet flooring made from the fusion of closed-cell cushion technology and a nylon wear layer. Made of 100 percent solution-dyed Dynex SD nylon, HalfTone is available with a variety of sustainable cushions and backings. It is 100 percent recyclable through the company’s closed-loop recycling program.

Resilient flooring

Forbo. Marmoleum with the new and improved Topshield 2 finish has an occupancy-ready finish that can be easily and cost-effectively renewed, bringing the floor back to its original beauty after years of heavy use. It has exceptional performance against soiling, staining, scratching and scuffing. The primary layer acts as a primer that is flexible and elastic. The primer is UV-cured, creating a strong bond with the Marmoleum surface.  The secondary layer is a tough surface finish that is dirt repellent, and resistant to scratches and staining. With Topshield 2, the formulation of both finish layers has been improved.
