March 22, 2018
Savannah Law School, a branch of John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, has sold its campus and will cease operations at the end of the current semester.

Savannah Law School in Savannah, Ga., will be closing at the end of this semester.

The Savannah Morning News reports school officials informed students of the closure at a town hall meeting Wednesday. The school's facility on Drayton Street in Savannah has been sold, they said.

The law school, a branch of John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, has about 200 students and about a dozen full-time faculty members are employed there, according to the Above The Law website.

Current students were told that because of the building sale, they would be relocated until graduation. Students have not been told where they would be relocated.

John Marshall Law School purchased the 199-year-old Candler Hospital in 2012 to use for its Savannah Law School campus.

A restoration of the building’s facade was completed in 2014.
