Orange County (Fla.) district still leads in use of forcible restraint on students

From The Orlando Sentinel: Disabled students in Orange County (Fla.) public schools continue to be forcibly restrained more than those in any other school district in the state. District students have been held on the ground, pinned by their arms or legs and strapped to boards by school staff. According to data reported to the state, Orange schools restrained students 952 times during the 2011-12 school year. That compares with 207 instances in Miami-Dade County and 913 in Hillsborough. But the number of restraints in Orange County schools has dropped nearly two-thirds compared with the 2010-11 school year, when 2,394 cases were reported.
