Games are moved after light pole topples at the Grapevine-Colleyville district facility

From dfw.cbslocal.com: The Grapevine-Colleyville (Texas) Independent School District's first football game of the school year won’t be at Mustang Panther Stadium as everyone was hoping. Instead, the game is being played in another district. The district has been forced to move three of its home games after an 80-foot light pole toppled from the concrete base on the backside of the stadium. Just to be safe, the district removed the remaining lights; they will be replaced later this month.

AUGUST 2012....From WFAA-TV: The Grapevine-Colleyville (Texas) school district has removed light poles from its football stadium after an 80-foot light pole broke from its concrete base and fell down. The pole landed across a landscaped hill and barely clipped a stairwell and sidewalk. Mustang Panther Stadium was almost empty when the incident occurred; a construction crew was working on the opposite side. After inspecting the remaining poles, district officials decided to remove the remaining light towers. New lights or temporary lights are expected to be in place next week for the first varsity game at the stadium.
