Massachusetts OKs $215 million for school construction projects

FromThe Boston Globe: The Massachusetts School Building Authority has agreed to pay $215 million toward school construction and renovation projects in a dozen communities. The projects receiving funding include new high schools in Natick and Tewksbury, which will receive increased funding because they will use existing designs. The Natick school district will receive $43.1 million in state funding for its $89 million school, as long as voters approve a debt exclusion override to pay the town’s share. Tewksbury will receive $44.2 million in state funding for its new high school. The authority also approved $53.7 million in funding to replace the middle and high schools in Southbridge, $36.5 million for Grafton’s Memorial Senior High School, and $24 million for Sherwood Middle in Shrewsbury.
