Kentucky State University is building welcome center at research farm

$5 million facility set to open next year

From The Frankfort State Journal: Kentucky State University has broken ground on a $5 million welcome center on the school’s Franklin County research farm. The Center for Sustainable Farms and Families at the KSU Research and Demonstration Farm will host farm shows, agriculture education workshops and conventions, training sessions and other events. The 12,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for an April 2010 completion. It will have a seating capacity of 600. The project is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The architect is Barnette Bagley Architects.
