Rashi School will build facility in Dedham, Mass.
The Rashi School, a Jewish day school for grades K to 8 in Massachusetts, is planning to begin construction soon on a permanent campus in Dedham. The planned 82,000-square-foot building will have ample windows and skylights; classrooms wired for the Internet; fully equipped science labs; a 10,000-volume library; school assembly and performance halls; art studios and music rooms; community spaces for prayer and celebrations; a gymnasium; playgrounds; and sports fields. The architect is HMFH Architects. To read more about the project, click here.

FROM MAY 2008: Staff and students at the Rashi School in Massachusetts are used to packing their bags; they have relocated six times in 20 years. Now, a $5 million challenge grant and a new architectural vision may help the Jewish day school move from Newton to a permanent home on the Hebrew SeniorLife Intergenerational Campus in Dedham. The school now enrolls 291 students in kindergarten through 8th grade and expects to grow to 360 students in its new home. Click here to read The Boston Globe article.
