Des Moines superintendent takes top job in Omaha

Nancy Sebring will be the first female superintendent in Omaha

From The Des Moines Register: Des Moines (Iowa) schools Superintendent Nancy Sebring is leaving to take the top job in the Omaha (Neb.) district. During Sebring’s nearly six years in Des Moines, students’ test scores have improved, high school graduation rates increased, and the academic achievement gap has narrowed slightly.

Also....from The Omaha World-Herald: Nancy Sebring, the next superintendent of the Omaha school district, will be the first woman to lead the system and the first outsider hired as superintendent in three decades. The Omaha school board voted 11-0, with one abstention, to hire Sebring to replace retiring Superintendent John Mackiel.
