Cleveland to build a replacement for John Marshall High School

Existing building is a city landmark built in 1932

From The Cleveland Plain Dealer: John Marshall High School in Cleveland will close in June for demolition and the construction of a replacement. Work could last up to three years. In the meantime, ninth-graders would attend classes at the former Brooklawn Elementary School, and older students would go to Carl F. Shuler, where Marshall's ninth grade is now housed. Marshall, built in 1932, is a city landmark, so demolition would require approval from Cleveland officials. City Council President Martin Sweeney says he supports the construction but wants a "signature" design and assurances that students traveling to and from Shuler won't disrupt the neighborhood.
