From ChicagoBreakingNews.com: Chicago Public Schools CEO Ron Huberman will leave his post on Nov. 29, according to district spokeswoman Monique Bond. Huberman, 38, will depart after a 16-year career in city government that saw him lead the Office of Emergency Management, the Chicago Transit Authority and the office of Mayor Richard M. Daley. He began his career as a Chicago police officer. Daley has announced that he is not seeking reelection, and Huberman has said he did not plan to serve under a new administration. Huberman took the reins of the school system in January 2009 after Arne Duncan was named U.S. Education Secretary.

Daley that he will leave his $230,000-a-year job long before the mayor leaves office in mid-May. However, in an interview with WGN-TV, Huberman says his departure is not imminent. Huberman was appointed in January 2009 as head of the nation’s third-largest district after Arne Duncan was selected as U.S. Education secretary.
