District now has 12 campuses that house grades K to 8

From The Cambridge Chronicle: Cambridge (Mass.) Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Young has presented a plan that would create four middle school programs — called upper schools — throughout the city. The district now has 12 schools that serve students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The upper school program is one aspect of a larger “Innovation Agenda” that Young presented to the School Committee. Under the proposal, the upper school campuses will be situated in wings of the existing King Open, Peabody, Kennedy-Longfellow and Tobin school buildings. Those are the campuses with the most space to accommodate the programs.
