Biosafety Level 3 lab opens at UMass-Dartmouth; facility will house National Botulinum Research Center.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has opened a $14 million Biosafety Level 3 laboratory and research facility. The 29,000 square-foot building is home to the university’s National Botulinum Research Center. The facility has heightened containment measures and restricted air flow systems to ensure the safety and security of people working in the lab. The architect is ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge, and the builder is Suffolk Construction.
