A new social science center is scheduled for completion by September at Ocean County College, Toms River, N.J. The college's enrollment surge necessitated the new building. Enrollment numbers have increased an average of 7 percent annually. More than 9,000 students attend the school.

The $12 million project is designed for LEED certification and complements the traditional exterior of neighboring buildings, including the campus library and other academic facilities. The 30,000-square-foot facility will feature classroom space, computer labs, faculty offices, student and staff lounges, storage areas and a conference room.

The architect is DMR Architects (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.). French & Parrello (Wall, N.J.) and KS Engineers (Newark, N.J.) assisted with the project.
