University of Southern Mississippi renovates one of its first buildings

The University of Southern Mississippi is near completion of a major renovation of College Hall, one of its Hattiesburg campus’ five original buildings. The project includes new windows, new tile flooring and a new staircase, among its changes.  Many of the renovations were done with an eye towards preserving the historic nature of the building, such as installing light fixtures similar to the original 1912 era lighting. The building will reopen this spring and will house the School of Mass Communication and Journalism.
