Walton Family Foundation gives $6 million for school voucher effort

Donation will help Alliance for Schools Choice promote vouchers that pay for private schooling.

The Walton Family Foundation is giving $6 million to a national advocacy group to double the number of students using taxpayer-funded vouchers to attend private schools. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says the funds will go to the Alliance for School Choice, a nonprofit group that has promoted voucher programs in states such as Wisconsin, Arizona, Ohio and Florida.
