Wake County (N.C.) district wins approval of $810 million bond proposal

Bonds will provide most of the funds for a $939.9 million program that calls for 16 new schools and upgrades at dozens of existing campuses.

An $810 million school construction bond proposal has won approval in the Wake County (N.C.) school district. The Raleigh News & Observer says the successful public vote will provide money for one of the largest school building programs in the district's history. The steadily growing district will carry out a $939.9 million construction program that includes 16 new schools, six major school renovations, smaller repairs at 79 schools, new technology and other projects.
