University of Massachusetts Boston has broken ground on a $113 million, 181,000-square-foot academic building. The four-story General Academic Building No. 1 will provide nearly 2,000 seats of general-purpose classroom space, along with a theater, recital hall, studios, teaching labs, student lounges, and a cafeteria.
