University of Utah increases tuition

University of Utah students will see an increase in tuition next year. The trustees at the university approved a 5.9 percent tuition increase that will increase tuition from $7,457 to $7,895 a semester, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Students are worried that the increase will make it even more difficult to finish school, but administrators say that Utah’s tuition is still lower than that of its peer schools. The tuition increase will go to fund faculty raises and to create academic advising resources.
