UCLA accepts 16,000 prospective freshmen

More than 16,000 prospective freshmen have been admitted to the University of California, Los Angeles for the fall, representing about 20 percent of the nearly 80,500 who applied. The Los Angeles Daily News says the prospective class of 16,177 students at UCLA includes 9,539 California residents, who represent nearly every state and 74 countries.
