Town balks at Bowdoin College plan for more student housing

Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, wants to buy a former assisted living home and turn it into student housing, but some town officials are concerned about the effect it would have on the neighborhood. The Portland Press-Herald says the college signed a purchase agreement for the building in November, but can't turn the building into a residence hall unless the town approves a requested zoning change.
