Superintendent accused of creating hostile work environment is placed on leave

San Juan (Calif.) Unified School board puts Glynn Thompson on leave while complaints are investigated.

The superintendent of the San Juan (Calif.) Unified School District has been placed on administrative leave while the district investigates accusations that he created a hostile work environment for some female administrators. The Sacramento Bee says the action comes after nine former and current employees filed complaints with the Fair Employment and Housing Commission against the superintendent, Glynn Thompson. A lawyer for the women who filed the complaints says Thompson was mean-spirited, harassed employees, forced some to quit and retaliated when they complained. Thompson's supporters contend that the accusations come from people trying to undermine reform efforts in the district.
