Study says charter students in New Orleans outperform those in traditional public schools

New Orleans charter school students learn at a faster pace than their peers at conventional schools and faster than their peers at charters elsewhere in Louisiana, a new study says. The New Orleans Times-Picayune says that the report from the Center for Research on Education Outcomes found that half of the city's charter schools perform significantly better than conventional public schools in reading, and 56 percent perform higher in math. Almost 80 percent of public school students In New Orleans attend charters.
