Sites for building schools will be hard to find in Wake County, N.C.

Administrators in the Wake County (N.C.) district have identified the general areas where they'd like to build 16 schools that are proposed as part of this fall’s bond referendum as well as 20 more schools for a future bond program. The Raleigh News & Observer says Raleigh and the western part of the county would get most of the new schools, but 19 of the proposed schools don’t yet have specific sites, and several are proposed in areas where it’s difficult to find land parcels large enough for a school campus. The school board has asked county commissioners put an $810 million bond on the ballot Oct. 8 to cover the bulk of a $983.8 million building program.
