School construction projects in many districts focus on security

Summer projects aim to boost security as districts react to Sandy Hook attack.

Numerous safety projects have kept construction crews busy this summer in more than 20 school districts in the Kansas City area. The Kansas City Star reports. Officials say the increase in security projects is a reaction to the shooting deaths last year at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
