Residence hall ready to open at art school in Baltimore

The newest residence hall at the Maryland Institute College of Art, set to open this month in Baltimore, provides lessons in creating a space that is not only chic and attractive, but also durable and flexible. The Baltimore Sun reports that the $16.3 million facility is designed to withstand the demands and needs of 240 art students who soon will take up residence. It has vinyl flooring that resembles driftwood and pressed-concrete walls that look like planks and innovative seating that can be configured in multiple ways.
