District receives badly needed funds after governor says he sees progress in financial reforms

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett says he will release $45 million in state funding for the Philadelphia School District that he had been withholding. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the governor decided to provide the money after deciding that enough progress has been made in improving the district's financial performance.
