Pennsylvania district engulfed in dispute over nighttime athletic events

Oct. 2, 2013
New Hope-Solebury board decided to stop having night games, but many patrons are clamoring for another vote.

Some patrons in the New Hope-Solebury (Pa.) School District have been rallying public support in an effort to reverse a board decision to stop scheduling football, soccer and other sports games at night. The Philadelphia Inquirer says the board acted last month after years of complaints about stadium noise and lights from nearby residents. But those who want the night games to continue have begun a public campaign to get the board to change its mind.
