Orange County (Fla.) board wants to build more K-8 campuses

April 22, 2013
Members discuss 5 new campuses, but plans will depend on whether sales tax is renewed.

Orange County (Fla.) School Board members have expressed support for opening as many as five new K-8 schools in the next five or six years. The Orlando Sentinel says moving forward on those schools is contingent on county taxpayers continuing to support school construction with a half-penny sales tax, which runs out in 2015. The board is expected to formally decide in a few months to put the question to a ballot.
