No more dodgeball in New Hampshire district

Dodgeball has been banned in Windham, N.H., schools, because of concerns about violence and bullying. The North Andover Eagle-Tribune says the school board removed dodgeball and nine other “human target” activities from the district’s curriculum after a committee of physical education teachers recommended eliminating the games. Officials say that allowing games where children are targets ran counter to the district's anti-bullying efforts. Officials in other districts say dodgeball is played less often that it used to be--not because of safety concerns, but because fitness-based activities have taken priority.
