Zoning board approves plans to install 1,200-foot-long solar array at Mattacheese Middle School

The Yarmouth, Mass., Zoning Board has agreed to issue a building permit to install a 1,200-foot-long, ground-mounted solar array at Mattacheese Middle School. The Cape Cod Times says the array will make up 25 percent of a solar installation planned by the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District and the local electric company. The roof and ground-mounted arrays planned for schools in Dennis and Yarmouth, will generate 3.9 megawatts of power and, during the project's 20-year tenure, are projected to produce about $5.9 million in cash and energy savings.
