LEED gold awarded to University of Wyoming facility

Bim Kendall House is the 2nd building on the campus to receive LEED certification.

The University of Wyoming’s Bim Kendall House has received LEED Gold certification. The facility is home to the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources and is the second building on the Laramie campus to receive LEED certification, the university says. Among the Kendall House's green design and construction features: rooftop photovoltaic panels; used of rapidly renewable building and finishing materials; energy-conserving structural materials (windows, insulation and panel systems); low-emitting paints, carpets, adhesives and other products; energy-efficient motors and lighting; use of daylight; student participation in building design; green cleaning program; occupant comfort through individual heating and ventilation controls; public transportation access; light pollution reduction; recycling collection; and maximizing site open space.
