A judge has ruled that three Oakland, Calif., charter schools slated for closure at the end of June can continue to operate while they pursue an appeal. The San Francisco Chronicle says Judge Evelio Grillo granted a temporary restraining order to keep the American Indian charter schools open through at least the initial weeks of the charters' summer school, which starts June 20. The Oakland school board voted in March to shutter the schools because of financial mismanagement and possible fraud.
