Injunction stops City College of San Francisco from losing accreditation

Jan. 6, 2014
Judge says a trial must be held to determine if the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges can revoke the college's accreditation.

A judge has ruled that City College of San Francisco's accreditation cannot be revoked until a trial is held to determine whether the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges acted lawfully in deciding that the school should be shut down. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the ruling allows City College to continue trying to address the many administrative and financial deficiencies that put its accreditation in jeopardy. Accreditation may not be revoked unless the commission wins at trial.
